From our bases in Richmond and Motueka , the AFM team provide high quality Silviculture services to forest owners and managers across the top of the South Island. Our strength lies in our ability to offer a full range of technical and management services from planning and implementation through to harvest. AFM is unique in our ability to offer a range of ancillary services such as forest security and fire protection as well as track maintenance and conservation work using experienced, dedicated staff.

Decades of industry experience

Established in 2005, the management team have a combined experience in excess of 120 years in the industry. Our four crews provide the flexibility to cope with any work program from the smallest Lifestyle Block or Farm Forestry scheme to some of the largest establishment programs in the region. Through partnerships with our network of heavy plant and aircraft sub-contractors we can provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure your forest investment gets the best start maximising returns throughout the rotation.

Thinning Positions Available

We are looking for an experienced person (with the relevant modules) to be a part of our chainsaw thinning crew. While thinning will be the main focus, other seasonal silviculture work will be undertaken. Ongoing development of skills and training will be provided to the right candidate. AFM has tertiary level ACC Health & Safety Accreditation and all candidates will be required to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test prior to employment. Excellent hourly and contract rates apply.
